For an IoT network I would set it up like an even more isolated DMZ vlan. Don't let anything in or out that isn't trusted. This means setting up a new device is a real PITA. Unifi routing is not well regarded for a couple of reasons. 1. Ubiquiti is not good at support. Also, often their software/firmware updates break things. 2. Unifi likes to show you a single pane design with lots of info, but major info like traffic is just wrong.
